Trinity: From horror games streaming to broadcasting her world tour

In this series, Gimbl would like to introduce you to some of the most inspiring and original streamers out there. Some of them went through really tough times before joining the streaming family, and we would like to thank them for brightening our days by providing such great content! Today, we’re focusing on Trinity, a female french streamer living in Lyon. She might be one of the most eclectic streamers on the platform, streaming horror and medieval games, but also cooking sessions and IRL lives in nature.

How it started

Prescilia “Trinity” Poirel started gaming at the age of 4 when she received her first Super Nintendo. She spent countless hours playing and eventually joined an e-sport organization as a semi-professional player a few years later.
But in fact, she didn’t know much about streaming at that time, and she started using Twitch 6 years ago after her friends advised her to do so. She’s always loved playing horror games but was too frightened to play alone. That’s why her friends told her to create a channel on Twitch so they could watch her get scared, instead of just hearing about her sessions later.

After doing this for a while, she started to notice that random viewers would actually stop by her stream -and come back!- and her channel slowly started to grow to the point where she would have hundreds of viewers.

At that time, Trinity was animating an Arte’s web series: Art of Gaming. The concept is simple, yet effective: two female gaming experts, discussing the different forms of art in the games we all love through a Let’s Play.

Arte is a french TV channel mainly focused on cultural subjects, whether it is art, global history, nature, and more. But they’re also trying to raise awareness on several topics, such as Gaming! Aside from the informative aspect of the channel’s program, they’re positioning themselves as pioneers in the TV industry, trying to share their audience all kinds of content, and incentivize them to sensitive and unknown topics.

Every project she had in her life so far was gravitating around video games, and she managed to make a living from it: two years after starting streaming, she’d quit her job to start a full-time streaming career. 35h weekly only in front of the cam! And that’s not counting the mail answers, the pro meeting, her several appearances in lestream.fr, and even her Arte show.

An eclectic channel

After getting so popular in such a short amount of time, Trinity could actually do what she loved, and share her multiple passions besides video games. Being a staunch defender of the animal cause, loving nature, and cooking like a pro, she built a stream schedule that can satisfy pretty much every type of viewer who would stumble upon her channel.

Viewers can get scared with “BlairTwitch” when Trinity is streaming horror games, but rarely alone! Her latest game was The Forest, which she did with her boyfriend, Steph.

She also cooks for her stream in “Miam Miam”. She’s choosing a theme for every Saturday (Italian, Medieval, etc) and does the full recipes walkthrough in the stream, sharing her knowledge to everyone.

Trinity also takes us on her journeys around the world in “TriniTrip”. She just loves to share her passion for traveling.

But one of the main aspects of her stream is the countless hours she spends talking with her viewers, that’s what makes us so pleasant to watch, even for newcomers. She loves to discuss the world’s news and the gaming industry’s, answering everyone’s questions, etc. She often does that in “IRL streams”, where she’s either in her family in the Cévennes in France or in the middle of nature during a hike. She always manages to set up idyllics backgrounds for her stream sessions.

But of course, that’s not all: she streams almost all kinds of games: from medieval management games to Cyberpunk 2077, she also started the TellTale The Walking Dead series, and so much more!

She’s obviously an example for streamer differentiation, almost a role model for all small streamers a bit confused about creating a community or asserting their personality on stream.

A one-of-a-kind streaming project

It’s been 5 years since Trinity discovered the joys of traveling and a few months ago, coming back from a trip to Japan, she had this crazy idea to go on a world tour and stream it all the way!

She discussed it with her boyfriend for a while, and they even got delayed with the COVID-19 plague, but after announcing the crazy project in September 2019, they couldn’t back off. And they didn’t want to!

After months of reflection and troubles with the epidemic, they finally agreed on how they’d travel: Trinity decided to travel in a van, so they could be totally free.

But she didn’t want to give up on her passion and years of work: she chose to stream all the journey on Twitch, to take her viewers with her and allow them to travel and open their minds to the world! But the logistics was a true brain teaser: how could she have access to the internet during her trip at any time?

But it didn’t take long for her to solve the problem: a big backpack carrying 4 WIFI modems to have internet access almost everywhere.

They’re planning, once the COVID is gone, to start with a France tour before moving to Asia, to start a road trip to France, crossing Pakistan, Iran, etc. They’ll want to spread awareness about some unknown countries and their culture and aspire to bring a new look at these. Next, after a break of several months, they wish to start again in the USA, before going South.

Also, Trinity and her boyfriend both enjoy gastronomy, so they wish to discover as many countries’ best dishes as possible, and make us live this world tour with a bit of their cooking!

We’re looking forward to this trip, hoping we’ll be able to follow her and her boyfriend all the way through!

Conclusion

Trinity is almost a role model for every streamer out there, but especially for women. She was a pioneer in several ways in the video games industry, being, for example, one of the first women promoted Twitch Partner in France.

But now, with this huge project, she’s playing on a whole other level! No more getting scared alone with horror games or a short IRL session in the Cévennes woods: she’s taking over the world, literally!

This is a huge opportunity for her to bring a whole new content to her Twitch channel and to Twitch in general. And that means bringing a new audience too!

At Gimbl, we love this slight reference to Arte she’s -intentionally?- making. Loads of documentaries pictured lone adventurers traveling around the world with just a camera and a backpack.

She truly found the right recipe for differentiating her channel on Twitch and bring a loyal, caring, and interesting audience to her streams.

This is a fine mix of gaming, culture, travels, and random chatting. But what seems to work the best, is that she’s just being herself. And that is priceless!

You too, stand out from the crowd!  Whether you’re using a set of original tools or having an original personality, use it! Push it all the way, that’s what viewers are looking for. Have a great time, so they can too!
